Recipe for Weight Loss, Quick to Prepare and Exquisite Taste

New Year is a time of reconciliation of our needs and desires. With this, we have introspection of ourselves to accomplish what has failed in our daily lives, with our goals.

Our main achievement during the beginning of any new year is our weight- how we look- how we feel in our clothes- how others see us.

Now is a time to prepare superb low caloric foods with great taste and flavor. You will not desire or feel neglected in missing a food category you deeply desire- in this blog, the food is the carbohydrate known as the killer Pasta

Aunt Diana's offers this unique recipe known as the Italian Turkey and Spaghetti Squash Pie

Overview- 1 hour cook time- prep time 18 minutes-

6 servings in an 8 inch pie pan-

Calories per slice 127

Here We Go

Squash takes the place of pasta as a great substitute. Cut squash in half, spoon out seeds and place each half down on a baking sheet. Fill each half with about an inch of water and microwave for 10-15 minutes- if you prefer to microwave.

For oven cooking-coat cooking tray with PAM cooking spray, spread some Italian seasoning

( Purchase McCormick Italian Seasoning or any other brand ) on the half sides, set the squash facing down on the tray. Set oven to 350 and cook about 45 to 1 hour, until squash is tender.

Cooking the squash is the best cooking procedure in my opinion. Food always taste better cooked in the oven.

Cook ground turkey meat in a non stick skillet over medium high heat until brown.

In the small skillet, heat oil over med-high heat. Add onions and garlic. Saute until onion is tender or looks translucent-about 5 minutes. Stir in Tomatoes note- if using canned dices tomatoes, then you need to add in Italian seasoning. best practice to use Aunt Diana's sauce- Filetto Di Pomodoro which has all the required Italian seasonings,

Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook turkey while simmering. Stir often until consistency- about 5 minutes

Place Ricotta and egg in a food processor or blender, puree until smooth

Coat 9 inch glass pie plate with cooking spray. Remove squash from the oven and increase oven temperature to 375 degrees to bake the pie as instructed below.

Using a folk, carefully rake the stringy squash pulp from the shell, separating into strands that look like spaghetti. Arrange spaghetti squash strands in the bottom of the glass pie plate and along the sides of the plate to form a crust

Add ricotta cheese mixture and gently spread over the squash as if you were frosting a cake with butter cream

Pour tomato sauce over ricotta - recommend Aunt Diana's Filetto Di Pomodoro, and then sprinkle some mozzarella. Bake in the over for 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven, let stand for 5 minutes to ensure the pie doesn't ooze out the cheeses, slice into 6 pieces

Calories per slice is 124. What I like to do is slice into 8 pieces and this amounts to 93 calories per slice.

The taste is similar to eating the high caloric lasagna or taking the place of macaroni and ricotta cheese or baked ziti,,,,,, Umm so so Good!!!
